The hot question of the recent time which is being discussed everywhere in Pakistan and even outside Pakistan is what I mentioned in the title of this post. Yousaf Raza Gillani has become a part of history now and the new prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is now in power. But the question, and confusion associated with it, of writing letter to Swiss authorities is still there.
If you ask me: Will the new prime minister be writing letter to Swiss Authorities against president Zardari? My answer would be a straight forward NO!
I believe no one from PPPP can write this letter. The situation is really pathetic for the persons coming onto the seat of PM. One has been removed from the post along with a punishment of disqualification for the next five years and the new one has this sword hanging over his neck. Because Supreme Court Of Pakistan has a very clear stance that they are not in a mood to compromise.
So what is the solution? Will the new prime ministers will keep on coming and Supreme Court will keep on disqualifying them for not obeying the court's orders?
Certainly not. Supreme Court given plenty of time to Yousaf raza Gillani and they will not give that much time to Raja Pervaiz; this is for sure. Government will again use delaying tactics and will try to prolong the case until the next election, which are not too far now. But will supreme court be giving time to this government? I think, no! I personally believe, this time Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will not be the only one who has to go. In fact, SC will also consider other options as well and those others options may not be in the best interest of democracy in Pakistan.
